this is a great site.

i have lurked for a while as a guest though.. i am still "in' you might say.

out mentally, but somewhat 'in' physically.

It's not that I want just anyone, I am really in love/infatuation with this ONE girl. There are a lot of variables involved. I guess I just have to either let it go, or go for it. I'm in a quandry. Thanks for the advice. I appreciate it.

if your not too rusty with dub teachings, you remember that to commit the unforgivable sin, you had to deny the holy spirits begetting you.

it would be like one of the annointed purposely saying................ "i don't want to worship jehovah anymore nor have any part of him or his son inspite of the fact he annointed me".. in christendom, it is likewise a denial of the spirit when you know it's for real.

i mean, they are forcing sites to close down, suing the people that run them etc.

i wonder if this is the way they want to "handle" the internet problem.

...you know what? After reading your posts I am starting to feel a little better about all this.

Thank you all for that, and I too will do everything in MY power to keep the hope alive. And contribute all I can to ensure that oppressive, evil, organizations such as the Watchtower, are not able to destroy real 'TRUTH'!

Could it be that the wts actually thinks it can win this war? I mean, they are forcing sites to close down, suing the people that run them etc. etc. I wonder if this is the way they want to "handle" the internet problem. Are they nuts? or do they have the money, support, and wherewithal to actually pull it off? The wts is a powerful organization. They have a ton of money, and the means to do alot of things, but is it enough? I'm starting to get a little concerned about the latest sites closing down, and the wts' ability to affect these closures.

I thought the societys' approach was going to be just to try and ignore these anti-jw sites, but it seems they are pulling up their bootstraps and going to war against the internet apostates. And by the accounts I'm seeing, they are winning. How long will it be before they can say: "Hey, WE NEVER SAID THAT" in answer to people who ask about contradictions in their past literature and so forth. They change the bound volumes to reflect "current thinking" and unless you have the original versions of their literature, you won't be able to prove that they have been contradictory. How will this affect "new ones" who research the jw's?

Does the society have the clout and power to actually win the war of (mis) information with the general public and jw's alike?

How long will it be before THIS SITE gets shut down?

When the powers that be in Bethel got together to discuss their strategy in regards to the handling of the "internet issue" in closed sessions, do you think that after discussing other options, they decided.."Let's go after 'em. We've got the money, the support, and Jehovahs' backing. Let's go for it!. This internet apostate scourge MUST BE STOPPED! We're losing too many because of it!???????" Do they feel it's their only chance of saving their sorry butts?

It's obvious they aren't just going to lay down.

A thing that bothers me about JW and Christmas

is that they dont celebrate it but are quite happy to accept gifts or money given by many companies at the end of a year as christmas gift.

in fact, ive heard all sorts of excuses ranging from well thats our money that weve earned over the year anyway to well we shouldnt really offend anyone

it looks like as long as you are receiving money or gifts its okay.

I think JW's as whole do a good job maintaining their "integrity" when it comes to not getting involved with X-MAS and with most stuff they are against. It's not easy. It's one of the things I give them credit for. They stick to their guns for the most part. One of the most restrictive religions out there, and yet most of them succeed in staying true to their beliefs. It's a tough, judgemental world out there, and I see many other religions buckle under pressure and comprimise their beliefs. The witnesses by and large don't do that. Although they are equally judgemental of others.

I am new here. This is a great site. I have lurked for a while as a guest though.

I am still "in' you might say. Out mentally, but somewhat 'in' physically. I attend the hall about twice a month, although I am baptized. I haven't been out in service in more than 4 years now.

There was a girl at my hall who was married to some dork, and I have since found out that she has divorced him, but she is not df'd, so there must not have been any messing around (at least none that has been admitted to apparently). Anyway, I have always been secretly in love with her, and I got a definite vibe that she may have been somewhat interested in me as well. She worked as a realtor and I e-mailed her in a lame attempt at establishing some sort of contact w/ her. I asked her in the e-mail if she was still doing real estate, and I received NO response. I then e-mailed back and said the reason I was asking was because I might be interested in a house that she was selling. I still received NO response. What bugs me is that what if I REALLY was interested in the house? Couldn't she have the courtesy to at least e-mail me back and say something? ANYTHING?????? I have never done anything outwardly, or said anything to her that would suggest that I am interested in her, so it doesn't make sense. She has her own web page. I googled her name to find her. I would really like to talk to her and get it off my chest how I feel about her. I wish I had the chance. I sometimes wonder if she would get on a board like this. Her initials are L.G.

I am happy to be here and share some stuff with you all. I have been through a lot over the years with the witnesses. I was married as well, and am very lonely right now. It might sound like I'm a freak, but I'ma pretty normal guy witha good job etc. I've never had trouble with being with women, or dating , or whatever, but this girl is someone I would really like to talk to just so I could get this off my chest and move on. I guess when you get down to it, she is really out of my league. Anyway, thanks for listening to my rant and allowing me the pleasure of joining you all in this fine discussion group. By the way, I'm in Northern Illinois.

How many ex JWs return to the Borg?

someone told me there are statistics showing that ultimately one third of jws leaving will go back to the borg.

There was a girl at my hall whose name is Chrissy that was df'd, then came back, and just recently da'd herself. I don't know why. She has fake boobs. She tries to look all sexy and what not.
